About Imperial Sand Dunes
Located about three hours away from Sun City, Arizona, this expanse of sand dunes stretches over 40 miles long and five miles wide. During World War II, the area was used as a military training ground. After the war, it quickly became a playground for off-roading. Dunes can reach up to 300 feet high, and are famous world-wide among off-roading enthusiasts. Permits are required from October 1 through April 15, and are $35 per week if purchased in advance and $50 per week if purchased onsite. Season permits are $150. If you choose to rent an RV from Sand Highway RV Rentals, a season pass is included in the rental fee. Make sure you follow all rules and regulations. And bring lots of water!
